Hi! I’m Andra Wochesen and that is certainly the case with me.
I have been on an inner journey for as long as I can remember to figure out what I am all about, what my purpose in life is and how I can best serve others. It has also been a process of uncovering my real truth. The process wasn’t always pretty, but the moments of clarity were worth it.
I believe in the powerful benefits of personal growth through inspiring books, transformational workshops and coaching and have always been interested in my own self-growth. I read everyday, attend amazing workshops and work with a coach myself. I’m also a big fan of meditation – nothing formal – just a chance to centre myself everyday and connect to my best self before I begin my day.
I started out as a middle school Physical Education and Health teacher where I discovered that working with the girls on self-esteem and empowerment was a true passion of mine. I loved connecting with them in a way that helped them honour who they were and allowed them to step out strongly into the world ( of grade 7 and 8 ) which, I would say, is a challenging place to stand out in any way.
Pivotal Moment in my Life:
In my fifth year of teaching, I had a class that tore down my own self-esteem on a daily basis. It was rough. I came home in tears for about 4 months straight. After much inner deliberation, I decided to change careers. I knew in my heart it was the right choice, that there was something else I was meant to be doing with my life.
This scary decision was one of the most empowering things I have ever done and I have never regretted that choice.
I knew that there was something else I was meant to be doing with my life.
I connected with my passion for helping people and my love of body work and became a Pilates instructor at an amazing studio where I was able to help people individually as well as lead group workshops. I felt inspired helping people feel better and move with ease. I loved teaching experiential workshops and helping new teachers feel confident in their abilities and to develop their unique teaching style.
But there was more that I wanted to do! I wanted others to experience the transformative journey I was going through.
In the past 4 years I have become really clear on my purpose and have a sense of inspiration and excitement that I don’t think I have ever had before. It’s that energy and vitality that allows me to focus on my work in a way that doesn’t feel like work and where the hours just fly by. It started with the creation of my first guided journal, called Personal Book of Inspiration: Discovering What You Want From Life, which has a number of tools that I had found helpful over the years to help people gain clarity in their lives.
I became a Certified Passion Test Facilitator because I feel it’s so important to understand what really “lights you up” in life. It is a simple but profound process that gets you out of your head and into your heart. I have presented it to groups across Canada and do regular individual consults with clients.
I wanted to work more deeply with people and became certified as a Life Coach. I feel so fortunate to connect with people in a meaningful way and truly feel like I’m living my purpose. I love that I have the opportunity to use all of my own passions, skills and interests doing something I love while helping people be more of who they are in the process.
I am inspired and excited when I’m helping others get clear on what’s really important to them and when clients have profound realizations about themselves and their lives.
I look forward to helping you on your life’s journey!
